Freedom Area Historical Society collects, preserves, and tells the significant stories of the people of Northeastern Wisconsin. We are a history museum devoted to the preservation of the history, heritage and artifacts of the Towns of Freedom, Center, Kaukauna, Oneida & Osborn as well as Northeast Wisconsin and her people. We are committed to enriching the lives of visitors of all ages by nurturing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the history of Northeastern Wisconsin and its people. History is brought to life for hundreds of visitors annually through educational displays & exhibits for school age children through senior citizens.  FAHS is committed to collecting, preserving, and sharing information, photographs, family histories, stories and objects that represent life in our area.

One of our goals is to build a large data base of information so members and the public can come to the FAHS to do research on their family or on the area in general. Often when grandparents or parents pass away, their families are left with a lifetime of photos, books, scrapbooks, obituaries, prayer cards, maps, ledgers and school, church & business records they don’t know what to do with.  FAHS is interested in obtaining these bits of local history to help grow our database.

Donated items, photographs and documents are on display. Documents are categorized and displayed in binders. Items on display are tagged to identify the item donated. Photographs are framed for display. Photos and documents are also available in digital format.
