DESCRIPTION:During 2019\, Freedom Area Historical Society will be celebrating our area’s founding families. These are the families that have had a long history in the area and have made considerable impact on our community. \nJoin us in honoring the Vandenberg/Van Den Berg/Vanden Berg family during September and October of 2019. \nThe Vandenberg Family settled in Freedom and Van’s Valley areas in 1854 and has been instrumental in helping Freedom and Oneida to grow into the communities they have become. \nWilliam G. Vandenberg\, Regina (Vandenberg) Hendricks\, Edward (Punkin) Vandenberg\, Ves Vandenberg\, Sister Germaine (Stella) Vandenberg\, Mike (Clarence) Vandenberg\, Mary (Vandenberg) Geurts\, Leo X Vandenberg and Alvin Vandenberg.\n  \n
